A number of England stars have been plying their trade in the IPL over the last few weeks and it’s no surprise to see Sam Curran turning heads with his impressive performances.
The Surrey all-rounder has proven someone that never fails to make something happen when he pulls on the Three Lions, whether that’s with the ball or the bat, in Tests or the shorter format.
Curran was drafted by the Chennai Super Kings and is having an excellent tournament so far. No player has taken more wickets for the side led by MS Dhoni than his seven, while he has also added some vital runs.
It’s clearly a tournament the 22-year-old enjoys, as he told us when we spoke to him as part of our ‘Barmy Army Meets’ series earlier this year.
He said: “Yeah [I did get a real buzz playing in the IPL]. I really enjoyed it.
“It is an amazing tournament. You’re playing against the best guys in the world and you travel around some amazing places.
“I really enjoyed learning from different guys in the dressing room. You have so many different nationalities and players, so you can pick their brains.
“It’s pretty cool.”
With the likes of Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, and Faf Du Plessis in the Super Kings squad, you feel Curran could come back from the tournament an even more dangerous player than before.
