England are set to make a decision about the upcoming Men’s and Women’s white-ball series in Pakistan after New Zealand abandoned their tour due to security concerns, according to the Evening Standard.
The Kiwis’ first tour of the country in 18 years was set to get underway today but has been called off meaning the ECB now face a decision of their own.
England’s Men and Women are scheduled to play T20 doubleheaders against Pakistan on the 13th and 14th of October, with Heather Knight’s side set to play a three-match ODI series after Eoin Morgan’s team head to the UAE for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The Evening Standard has reported that a decision is expected in the next 24 to 48 hours about whether to go ahead with the tour of Pakistan.
Among other things, cancelling would hamper England Men’s preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which gets underway next month.
Morgan’s side play their first game against the West Indies on the 23rd of October.
