This January, England head to Bridgetown, Barbados, to play the first-ever five-match T20 series between the two nations, running from 22nd to the 30th and including two weekends of back-to-back clashes.

IT20 cricket in Bridgetown brings back fond memories for The Barmy Army, who followed England during their historic World Cup winning campaign back in 2010, whilst experiencing all the delights of the Caribbean.

England’s recent momentum in IT20 cricket including their ephaptic 6 wicket win against the West Indies in the recent IT20 World Cup in the UAE, once again gives the travelling support much to be excited about ahead of the series.

If you’re lucky enough to be joining us in Barbados this winter, we’ve put together this guide to make sure you can get the most out of your time on the island…

Tickets in the Barmy Army sections are still available to First Class and Lifetime members here. The Barmy Army will be located in the Hewitt & Inniss Lower Stand.

Kensington Oval

The Kensington Oval is a stadium located to the west of the capital city Bridgetown and accessible by both Bus and Taxi. Public Transport on the island is provided by the Barbados Transport Board, see here for all public transport information.

As well as public buses the main routes into Bridgetown are serviced by a fleet of privately owned minivan type vehicles known as ‘Reggae Buses’ with a flat fee of US $1.75 or BBD $3.50. These are hailed on the roadside and will attempt to squeeze as many paying passengers as possible. Expect to get up close and personal with locals and tourists alike and prepare yourself for the sound system!

In order to enter the stadium, you must be fully vaccinated and bring proof of this with you on matchday (NHS Covid Pass will be accepted). Face masks within the stadium will be mandatory and we are informed that there will be no exemptions whatsoever.
