Liam Livingstone’s ‘Monster’ IPL strike has to be seen to be believed

We all know that Liam Livingstone is a big hitter but the “monster” six he hit in yesterday’s IPL 2022 clash between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans is yet more evidence of just what a frightening ball striker he is.

Livi is enjoying a phenomenal season so far – scoring 293 runs at an average of 32.55 – and has the second-highest strike rate (186.62) of any batter to score more than 200 runs in this year’s tournament.

Yesterday, his 30* from 10 balls helped the Punjab Kings to an eight-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans with 24 balls remaining but there was only one thing anyone was talking about after the game.

Facing just his fifth ball, the England batter smashed an 117m six out of the ground off the bowling of Mohammed Shami, whose smirk showed just how impressed he was as he walked back to his mark.

He wowed the commentators as well, who labelled it a “monster” and “one of the biggest sixes I’ve ever seen in my life”.

It simply has to be seen to be believed and you can check it out below…

We can’t wait to see Livi hammering sixes in England colours again this summer and in the T20 World Cup later this year!
