The Barmy Army team made the perfect start to Fairbreak Invitational 2022 with a victory against Spirit yesterday and the game included a can’t miss moment that sums up what the tournament is all about.
It truly is a global event, with players from 35 countries taking part and that means there are opportunities for some of world cricket’s biggest stars to play alongside and face up against some new faces.
That’s exactly what happened in yesterday’s game between the Barmy Army team and Spirit as 19-year-old Rwanda seamer Henriette Ishimwe bowled World Cup-winning Australian batter Nicola Carey with an absolute peach of a yorker.
It’s a moment that gives Ishimwe the sort of exposure she just wouldn’t be able to get otherwise, with Rwanda the 32nd ranked side in world cricket.
If, for some reason, you weren’t watching and somehow you haven’t seen the wicket already (or you just want to take it in again), check it out below…

Ishimwe’s reaction shows just what it means to her and it must’ve been made all the more special by being able to celebrate with World Cup-winning England skipper and our captain Heather Knight.
Fairbreak Invitational 2022 is already proving to be a special event and we’re so happy to be able to play our part.
