The Barmy Army Fans World Cup is heading back to Sri Lanka in 2025!
After a ground-breaking first tournament in Galle in 2023, the Fans World Cup returns to the teardrop island for the second edition, which will take place in Dambulla, in the heart of the jungle on the northern plains of the island.
Your Barmy Army Fans World Cup ‘travel package’ includes international flights from London, a four-night stay in half-board 5* accommodation, airport and matchday transfers, three days of cricket representing your country in the Fans World Cup, your playing kit, matchday catering and a big end of tour party where the winning team will be crowned as the Fans World Champions before a night of celebration.

The players package is aimed at amateur cricketers but there is no specific requirement in terms of experience or the level you’ve played at.

You don’t need to have everyone’s details immediately, but please provide Passport Number, Expiry date and country of issue within a week of booking in order to guarantee your trip.
The lead person on the booking must be 18 or older. We’ll also need a postal address, phone number, email address, and payment details for them.

Tour Itinerary
- Day 1 – Tuesday, 1st April, 2025: Depart UK
The day is here! Meet your Barmy Army Tour Manager and fellow teammates at Heathrow Airport to check in, drop your bags and head through security for your overnight flight to Colombo.
- Day 2 – Wednesday, 2nd April, 2025: Arrive in Sri Lanka
Upon your arrival in Colombo, collect your bags and head out of the airport. Expect a warm welcome in the beautiful country of Sri Lanka as our host country greets you like any international sports team! We will then board our bus transfer to the tournament location, Dambulla.
You will check in at the prestigious Aliya Resort & Spa in Dambulla and enjoy an afternoon of relaxation at the hotel. You and your team members will be asked to join us briefly for a media shoot ahead of the tournament, and you will be presented with your playing kit.
In the evening, we will gather for the tournament’s opening ceremony, followed by welcome drinks ahead of the first day of the tournament!
- Day 3 & 4 – Thursday, 3rd – Friday, 4th April, 2025: Cricket
Days 3 and 4 is tournament play! After breakfast, the team buses will collect you from the hotel and take you to the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, where you will compete against other teams across two days in a group stage format. Lunch will be served, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
After each day’s play, you will return to the hotel for your evening meal and the chance to reflect and rest to go again the following day.
- Day 5 – Saturday, 5th April, 2025: Winners & closing ceremonies
On the tournament’s final day, we will return to the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium to decide the winners! After the knockout stage is completed, the trophy will be presented on the pitch following the Fans World Cup Final. You can return to the hotel in the afternoon to freshen up before the tournament’s closing ceremony.
All competitors and supporters will be invited to our closing ceremony, which will take place in the evening at a stunning location. Expect a remarkable evening with food and drinks provided, traditional Sri Lankan dancers, and special cricketing guests presenting trophies and medals. It will be an unforgettable night and the perfect way to celebrate your wonderful experience in Sri Lanka!
- Day 6 – Sunday, 6th April, 2025: Return flight to the UK
Unfortunately, it is time to head home. Say your goodbyes and take your transfer to Colombo airport, where you will check-in and board your flight back to the UK.
