We are delighted to launch our brand new Barmy Army Admiral merchandise range, inspired by England’s heroes from the early 2000s.
The range, which features classic replica designs of the Test and ODI shirts, has been developed in collaboration with Admiral – the creators of the much-loved England range from the famous 2005 Ashes win. As we approach the 20th anniversary of that memorable Three Lions triumph, it is fitting to be able to pay homage to the legends who created so many memories.
Admiral became the official kit supplier to the England cricket team in 2000, and was an instant hit with Three Lions supporters. The classy designs and exciting colour combinations led to the range being worn up and down the country. The Ashes victory in 2005 saw demand reach new heights.
Australia arrived as the most recent Ashes victors, but there was a strong belief amongst the Three Lions camp – and supporters – that things were about to change. The series, which ran from July until September, was as closely contested as everyone expected it to be.
After an intense few weeks, it was Michael Vaughan’s men who eventually secured a 2-1 series victory, succeeding – for the first time since 1986/87 – in their biennial attempt to win the Urn!
In the years that followed, England’s Admiral range grew in popularity – to the point that items were being sold for hundreds of pounds online and at auctions. Nowadays, you will be lucky to even get your hands on a piece of merchandise from the 2005 triumph!
Our Admiral range includes a white polo shirt, red/blue polo shirt, t-shirt and fleece, with more products to follow in due course.
“We are absolutely delighted to launch our new merchandise range in partnership with Admiral, and hope Barmy Army supporters and Members enjoy the designs which were made famous by Michael Vaughan and his men back in 2005,” said Rodney Rens, Barmy Army Merchandise Manager.
“From the start of the design process, it was important that we worked closely with Admiral to ensure the products were instantly recognisable. We are incredibly grateful to Admiral for their support during this process.
“With thousands of England fans travelling to Australia for the Ashes next year, it would be amazing to see the Admiral range on display Down Under!”
