Your Itinerary

In a nutshell...

Here's how your break will look:

Before you travel Departure Arrival / Match days Home Time

After booking you'll receive a booking confirmation. Have a read of the important information.

Approximately 3 weeks before the trip starts we'll be in touch with your final documentation. This will include your final flight times, ticket info and any more helpful bits of advice you may need.

Time to get excited.

It works just like any holiday flight! Grab your passport and be at the airport for at least 3 hours before take-off.

Then…Sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.

Once you’ve reached the other side & passed customs and immigration at Auckland airport, your Barmy Army reps will be there to point you in the direction of your hotel transfer. Check in is usually around 3pm, but don’t worry if you’re there before, the hotel will store your bags, so you can head straight out!

You’ll find a Barmy Army notice board in your hotel reception. This will display all important information and transfer times for the week ahead.

Your Barmy Army reps will also be around if you have any questions.

After a great break, sadly it’s time to head home. You’ll need to check out by mid-day (some hotels may have slightly earlier or later check out time) but if you’re on a later flight, the hotel will store your luggage, so you can enjoy your last day in New Zealand.

Keep an eye on the noticeboard in your hotel for pick up times. When it’s time to leave for your flight, the coach will pick you up from your hotel and your onboard rep will let you know which check in desks you’ll need to head to when you reach the airport.

Need to Know

Entry in to New Zealand

COVID-19 & other entry requirements

New Zealand’s borders have fully re-opened.

From 1 April 2022 travellers arriving into New Zealand by air must complete the Traveller Declaration and be issued a New Zealand Traveller Pass before travelling to New Zealand.

Start your declaration as soon as you can, to ensure you have time to complete it before you travel.

Travellers will need to provide:

Passport details

Flight information

Travel history for 14 days prior to arriving in New Zealand

Contact details in New Zealand

Emergency contact details.

You need to show your Traveller Pass when you check-in at the airport, and to Customs when you arrive in New Zealand. It can be printed out or saved on your mobile device.

Eligible travellers entering New Zealand will also be given a pack of rapid antigen tests (RATs) with instructions at the airport. Travellers are encouraged to test on day 0/1 and 5/6. Please see New Zealand Government COVID-19 for full details.

See the New Zealand Government’s Traveller Declaration website for further information - https://www.travellerdeclaration.govt.nz/

You do not need a visa to enter New Zealand as a visitor for up to 6 months, but you will need to get a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before you travel.

The NZeTA costs NZD $9 if applying via the dedicated mobile app, or NZD $12 if completed online. You will also need to pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of NZD $35 when you apply. Once issued, the NZeTA is valid for up to two years. The New Zealand immigration authorities recommend that applicants allow up to 72 hours for processing.

On arrival in New Zealand, you will also need to satisfy the Immigration Officer that you meet the criteria for visa-free entry, which includes having an onward ticket and sufficient funds to support you during your stay. You can check the full criteria on the New Zealand Immigration website.

You can see the up to date UK government travel advice, for New Zealand, here - https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/new-zealand

Here's some things we need you to know:

This tour includes a 20 night hotel stay, flights, transfers and match tickets for both test matches in New Zealand.

10kg bag carry on bag, a small personal item (handbag or laptop bag) is included for all customers. You will also be able to bring a 25kg bag to place in the hold.

As a Barmy Army Travel client, you will have access to our Forum as we enjoy exclusive access to the Long Room at The Basin Reserve, just two days before the beginning of the Test Match. We will be joined by stars of the cricketing world with full details of the personnel to be announced in due course.

If you want to take control of your travel, our non-travel (Hotel & Ticket) options will suit you.

There will be a tourist levy to pay when you get to your hotel. Unfortunately we can't add this to your sportsbreak as it must be paid locally by those who accommodate the room. This varies from city to city.

Ready to book?

Book with confidence. You can be assured that your trip is protected from any unforeseen circumstances.

We’ll need to take some details for everyone joining us in New Zealand:

•Full name (as it is written in each passport)

•Date of Birth

•Passport information

It’s ok if you don’t have everyone’s passport details to hand right now, but within a week of making your booking, we’ll need:

Passport Number

Passport Expiry Date

Passport Country of Issue/Nationality

The lead person on the booking needs to be 18 or over, and we’ll need a postal address, phone number and email address for them, as well as payment details.

We’ll take a 50% deposit when you book and the final balance 11 weeks before you travel (1st December 2022)

If you book with less than 12 weeks to go, we will take full payment at the time of booking.

We want to make sure you're up to date on everything there is to know, so have a read of the ‘important info’ on the last screen before you finish your booking.

Please click here to read the Standard Information Form on Traveller’s Rights when booking a Package Holiday

And once you’re all booked…

We’ll be in touch around 3 weeks before the departure date with your travel documents. These will include your finalised flight and accommodation details, along with your ticket information. We'll add any other useful information we'd like you to know here too.
