MELBOURNE 2027
Australia v England – 150th Anniversary Test
Be part of cricketing history at the MCG
To mark the 150th anniversary of the very first Test match between Australia and England at the MCG, a one-off day/night Test will take place at the same venue in March 2027.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) hosted its inaugural match from 15 to 19 March 1877, with Australia winning by 45 runs, followed by England taking the victory in the second match at the same venue, drawing the series 1-1.
A great deal has changed since then, and the rivalry now fuels international cricket, which will once again see this 100,000-seat stadium sell out.
But you can be there to witness this historic event and enjoy what Melbourne has to offer with the Barmy Army. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Sign up now to be the first to receive updates about Melbourne 2027.

MCG – THE STADIUM
There’s few sporting venues in the world that change you. But a day at the MCG will get underneath your skin and have you needing England to win. It’s boisterous. It’s intense. It’s the perfect location to watch two rivals battle it out in one of the most iconic rivalries our sport has. Whilst England have seen some challenging days here, few will forget Day One in 2010 when the Aussies were skittled and Cook and Strauss battled the day out. Make sure you’re there to witness another chapter of history at the ‘G’ in 2027.
