The Pakistan Test dates and venues have been announced with England playing three tests in October. Here’s a guide to each location to give you a better sense of what to expect on the tour:
Test 1: Multan, 7th-11th October
Multan is a large city in Punjab and played host to the second Test during England’s last tour in 2022. Due to security concerns, there was a heavy presence of armed guards and officers here unlike the other two locations. This meant that it was very much a case of confinement to hotels and the cricket ground most of the time. However, we did get the chance to explore after the Test match with some amazing street food and a visit to the amazing tomb seen below.
The stadium itself is vast and has an incredible atmosphere. There is an old-school score box that towers over one of the stands whilst the concourses are full of food stalls. The way all of the Pakistan grounds worked is that English supporters had their own section but you can easily wander around to see the whole venue.

Test 2: Karachi, 15th-19th October
Karachi is based on the southern coast of Pakistan and has a population of over 20 million, making it the 12th largest city in the world. As you can imagine – it is vast! It is definitely by far the most ‘Westernised’ of the three venues and the hotel selections reflect this.
It also has a beach! Don’t expect to pull out a sun lounger though as it gets very busy but it’s worth a visit. Karachi is also the home to Levis so you can buy some cheap clothes that are of amazing quality. No trip to Karachi is complete without a visit to Burns Road, which is packed full of some of the best curries and smells your senses will ever be exposed to.
The cricket ground is not too far out of town and has a different feel from the others as it has a large roof that covers all of the seating. It’s also had some issues down the years so there is a lot of fencing but this doesn’t detract from the atmosphere and viewing experience.
Test 3: Rawalpindi, 24th-28th October
In 2022, the first stop was up in Rawalpindi, directly next to Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. ‘Pindi’ as it is known as, is within reach of Pakistan’s stunning mountain ranges which you can see from the city. Much like Karachi, with more of a ‘Western influence’ this is reflected in the many hotels based in both Pindi and Islamabad.
The stadium has an amazing feel to it. When Babar Azam walked out to bat in 2022, you could feel the chairs shaking in the middle of a wall of noise made by the most passionate of cricket fans. Again, the in-stadia food is curry of the highest quality and in general, you will be very well looked after in Pakistan.
