The wait is over.
We are immensely proud to announce the relaunch of Barmy Army Travel with packages now on sale for the Test match tours of Pakistan and New Zealand, as well as our first venture into Darts at The Ally Pally in December this year.
We have listened carefully to you, the fans, on your feedback over the years and our new travel proposition is committed to delivering inclusive, safe, and memorable tours, whether travelling alone or with friends and family.
We will be taking full ownership of the design and delivery of tour packages going forward, and working with our new partners at sportsbreaks.com, we will deliver unrivalled sporting experiences – everywhere we go! Sportsbreaks.com will bring a wealth of travel experience and supporting resources to ensure that our trips are bigger and better than ever and that we continue to be the leading tour operator for England cricket tours.
In taking more control of our travel operation, we have pinpointed several key areas that will set Barmy Army Travel aside from competing tour providers. These include:
– Experienced and engaging Tour Managers, who are not only fellow cricket fans but are there to ensure all tours are trips of a lifetime.
– Entry-level cricket tours that ensure more fans can become part of the Barmy Army community and enjoy the live game atmosphere.
– Dedicated packages for solo travellers without hefty single supplements, while providing the opportunity to meet and travel with other solo fans.
– Access to other sports such as Rugby, Golf, Darts, Motorsport and more.
Additionally, with tour packages now available on barmyarmy.com, we can now offer a true one-stop shop for cricket fans with membership, tickets, tours and merchandise all available on the same platform.
Whilst our overseas packages are now live, Ashes tickets will be on-sale to First Class members from Next Tuesday 11th October, together with entry-level ‘Match Break’ packages, for those of you needing accommodation and ticket packages for ease and convenience when planning more than one day at the Test.
We know that most of you are not just cricket lovers, but sports lovers, and by venturing into other sports such as Rugby, Golf, Darts and Motorsport in the next few years, we will be providing the opportunity to enjoy more than just cricket with like-minded people from the Barmy Army community. We are really excited to be planning trips to future major sporting events in Rugby, Golf and Motorsport and also to be live and on-sale with packages for the World Championship Darts at Alexandra Palace, in December, today.
Discussing the relaunch of Barmy Army Travel, Chris Millard, Managing Director of Barmy Army, said: “Although we have hosted many successful tours over the years in partnership with a dedicated travel provider, we took the decision to move our tour operation in house to create a seamless experience for our members, whilst also enabling us to ensure the best value for money for our growing Barmy Army community of sports fans.
As massive sports fans ourselves, we also wanted to try and offer a service to other sports fans that provides true value whilst retaining the fun element of the Barmy Army. In what has been an incredibly difficult couple of years for cricket travel we are delighted to share something new and fresh with our supporters and followers. We are incredibly excited to see what unfolds for Barmy Army Travel.”
Adam Canning, Director and Tour Manager on recent tours to West Indies and South Africa added, “The relaunch of Barmy Army Travel is really exciting and we can’t wait to see friends old and new on the upcoming tours to Pakistan, South Africa (we hope!) and New Zealand. We are really committed to providing truly unique tour experiences and making sure that people have the time of their lives when travelling away with the Barmy Army. Overseas tours are a bucket-list trip and we will continue to pride ourselves on going above and beyond to optimise the experience for everyone in our community”.
