Ben Duckett Joins The Barmy Army
The Barmy Army is delighted to announce a new 12-month partnership with England’s multi-format star and Test opener, Ben Duckett.
Ben has a long-standing association with the Barmy Army which extends right back to his time as a Barmy Army Colt, where he sported the baby blue of our junior side underneath his keeping pads, and demonstrated the talent that would see him graduate to the professional game.
Ben’s most recent connection with the Barmy Army came on the biggest stage of them all, however, flaying bowlers to all parts in both Pakistan and New Zealand as England’s most loyal travelling supporters sang his name. He is set to play a crucial role in both this summer’s Ashes, which will represent his first taste of the English Test summer, and October’s ODI World Cup where England will be hoping to defend their crown.
The Ins and Outs
Ben’s bat will proudly feature a Barmy Army Travel sticker when he represents England in Test matches, ODIs, and T20Is, and when he appears in any other professional domestic fixtures. Not only will that make for some outstanding replay footage when he cuts Mitchell Starc to the deep point boundary in the summer; it will also see the Barmy Army’s logo appearing at the crease during the Hundred, in the Caribbean this winter and India early next year.
He will also join the us at some major Barmy Army events over the next twelve months, with further announcements concerning giveaways and competitions to follow throughout the year.
In announcing his partnership with the Barmy Army, Ben said: “Having witnessed their unbelievable support personally, this special group of fans are nothing short of best in the world. When you hear other nations compliment the support the Barmy Army provides, it genuinely feels like you have a big advantage going into every game whether that is home or away. On July 31st I can’t wait to be celebrating a big win over the Aussies at The Oval with all of you”
Chris Millard, the Barmy Army’s managing director, added, ‘Ben’s relationship with the Barmy Army really has come full circle from playing for us, singing in the stands with us to opening for the Test side. We’re thrilled to have agreed this sponsorship with him ahead of a massive twelve months for England, and can’t wait to see him raising his bat in a home Ashes series. Ben really epitomises everything our Test side has done so well since the start of last summer, and he’s got a huge part to play’.
