England travel to the Caribbean this December for 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is against the West Indies. The Caribbean is a bucket list destination for many cricket supporters due to the regions passion for the game, picturesque islands and winter sun. An island which really encapsulates all of these things is Barbados, which will be hosting two of the matches on the tour at the famous Kensington Oval. We think that there is no better place to be this winter than in Barbados.
Visit the Iconic Kensington Oval
The Kensington Oval is one of most iconic grounds in the world. It has been the home to some legendary cricketers such as Joel Garner, Malcom Marshall and Sir Garfield Sobers, it’s also played host to some famous cricket matches including England’s T2O World Cup victory back in 2010! The ground is known for its good batting surfaces meaning that we should see plenty of boundaries! With a capacity of 28,000 spectators, matches at the Kensington Oval always come along with a loud and electrifying atmosphere which you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
Winter Sun
Swap the horrible cold and miserable English weather this December by escaping away to Barbados. December is typically the beginning of the dry-season in Barbados average high temperatures of twenty nine degrees meaning we are almost guaranteed great weather during our time out there. So this December instead of watching it rain from inside your home take a trip to Barbados and watch the cricket in the sun.
Watch the Best White-ball Players in the World Live
England are the current the world champions in both ODI and T20 cricket, bolstering the worlds best white-ball players in their ranks. We are well known for our exciting brand of cricket meaning to be ensured you will see plenty innovative shot making and boundaries hit on our way to hopefully big totals. The West Indies also have plenty of talent of their own in their side and always bring their A-game when England are in town meaning to expect two thrilling matches in Barbados!
Experience Barbados’s Natural Beauty
While you’re not watching England smash the ball all over the park in the sun, there’s plenty of other stuff to explore on the island of Barbados. Much like the rest of the Caribbean, Barbados is a naturally beautiful island full of underground caves to be explored, stunning landscapes and beaches which lead into the gorgeous crystal blue waters of the Caribbean sea.
