Example Itinerary for a week in Melbourne
Here's how a week in Melbourne with Barmy Army Travel might look in the Ashes 2025/26. This can be either by itself or as part of one of our several packages as seen above.
Day 1 - Arrive in Melbourne
Regardless if you are just joining us in Melbourne or have come from elsewhere, our rep will be there to greet you at the airport and usher you onto your transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 - Explore Melbourne on Christmas Eve
Explore an amazing city before catching up with us at Barmy HQ for an Xmas Eve sing along on Federation Square.
Day 3 - Christmas Day Party
You won’t have a funner Christmas lunch then over 1,000 Barmy tourists in one room eating turkey, singing cricketing hymns and dancing the night away.
Day 4-8 - The Boxing Day Test
100,000 at the MCG on Boxing Day. It’s the stuff legends are made of. Your official Ashes tickets in the Barmy Army section, a bespoke tour shirt and transfers to and from the ground are all included. Just get Jerusalem ready to go in your head!
Day 9 - Enjoy Melbourne
Stroll along the scenic Yarra River and enjoy the lush greenery of the Royal Botanic Gardens. For lunch, indulge in Melbourne's renowned food scene by dining in one of the many laneway cafes. In the afternoon, take a tram to Warney’s neck of the woods and the vibrant seaside suburb of St Kilda, where you can relax on the sandy beach.
Day 10 - Travel Day
Your time in Melbourne is complete. Either fly home or we’ll have your transfer sorted onto Sydney as the Ashes continue. All domestic flights will be incorporated into your package.
